PlaceholderAPI integration

Setup

1. Install PlaceholderAPI

# Download PAPI from SpigotMC and drop it in your plugins/ folder
# Then in-game or console:
/papi ecloud download AfkGuard
/papi reload

Warning: If PlaceholderAPI is not installed, all %afkguard_...% placeholders will display literally as %afkguard_..%.

2. Verify Installation

/papi test <yourname> %afkguard_status%
# Should return: Active  (or AFK if you're currently AFK)

Detailed Descriptions

%afkguard_status%

Returns the player's current AFK status as a human-readable string.

• Returns AFK when the player is marked as AFK
• Returns Active when the player is active
• Useful for conditional formatting in TAB or chat

%afkguard_time%

Returns how long the player has been in their current AFK session, formatted as m:ss.

• Returns 0:00 if the player is not currently AFK
• Resets to 0:00 when the player becomes active again
• Example: 3:42 means 3 minutes and 42 seconds AFK

%afkguard_count%

Returns the total number of players currently marked as AFK on the server (integer).

• Useful for server info displays, MOTDs, or scoreboards
• Returns 0 when no players are AFK

Animated Scoreboard (e.g. CMI, AnimatedScoreboard)

Compatible plugins

Tip: Combine %afkguard_status% with conditional placeholder plugins like PlaceholderAPI-Expansion-Conditions to show/hide elements based on AFK state.
